nekoboy06, you are lucky to be free from the distorting shackles of nostalgia. For everyone else, let me lay it down for you guys:
Digimon TV show > Pokemon TV show
even the biggest pokenerds will agree with me on this one. The Pokemon TV show… kinda sucked.
Digimon video games > Pokemon video games
This is where I will get the hate. Now don’t get me wrong. I have played through four out of five of the main Pokemon games and enjoyed them. But have a little perspective here. Why do people dislike sports games? Because they release a new one every year and the only changes are graphics upgrades and updated states and a few more characters. Now tell me. What’s the difference between each Pokemon game? The Digimon games, although not as stellar as Pokemon Red and Blue for its time, were for the most part very distinct and enjoyable. I mean, who hasn’t played Digimon World and loved having a giant MetalGreymon following you around? Nobody hasn’t, that’s who. In Pokemon Yellow, you had a Pikachu following you in game and you could turn around to find that the only interaction you can have is to bring up a little animated picture of him smiling or something.
Digimon trading card game > Pokemon trading card game
HAHAHA just kidding nobody cares about the TCG.
P.S. Digimon totally came first. The Pokemon games were simply an expansion on the tomagatchi concept. Train, connect, battle, share.
